To further quench your thirst for history, check out the New Milford Historical Society & Museum, with exhibits that explore everything from the town’s rich agricultural roots and its thriving tobacco industry to maps of the Underground Railroad, a series of places in town where enslaved people could take refuge on their path to freedom in Canada. A monument dedicated to the memory of enslaved people stands at the Historical Society & Museum in front of the Lincoln memorial at the north end of the town green.
