Open house, workshop to explore riverfront revitalization

Community input welcome at June 4 event

NEW MILFORD, Conn. — The town's Riverfront Revitalization Committee will hold an open House, public presentation, and community workshop Wednesday, June 4.

The award-winning design consultants, WXY and Langan Engineering, will be on hand to meet attendees at the event to be held at the Paul S. Richmond Citizen Center at 40 Main St.

The committee is seeking the public's input and suggestions as it updates the riverfront revitalization plan.

The proposed plan reimagines New Milford’s Housatonic riverfront as a vibrant hub that connects the town center to its natural and cultural assets through the catalytic reuse of underutilized brownfield sites, according to design consultants.

By transforming these neglected areas, the project introduces new spaces for recreation, housing, and cultural engagement, establishing a flexible, sustainable framework for growth over the next decade, they explain.
