NEW MILFORD - The Village Green was bustling with activity Saturday, Sept. 27, for the fifth Apple Festival.

Activities kicked off at 10 a.m. with the crowning of the event's king and queen, Vic and Cathy Corsaga of New Milford at the bandstand.

After the ceremony, patrons were treated to opportunities to shop at the array of craft and non-profit vendor booths, enjoy bounce houses, and try an assortment of apple-themed foods and beverages.

In addition, a bakeoff was held.

Winners were, in category 1, Clare Ferrandino, first; Jennifer Foder, second; Jessica Strasser, third; and Nancy Hart and Jenine Bahagli, each of whom received honorable mention. Winners in category 2 were Deanna Sumara, first place for apple crumble pound cake; Jordan Prause, second for apple pie cookies; and Kim Salazar, third for apple German cake.
