Sullivan Farm

Welcome to Sullivan Farm, a 100-acre town-owned working farm that preserves an important part of New Milford’s agricultural heritage while educating future generations about sustainable farming and land stewardship.

The farm offers hands-on educational programs for students from middle school through college, where participants grow food, learn practical agricultural skills, and take part in maple syrup production as part of modern agro-business training. During the school year, students may also study blacksmithing in the on-site shop, along with workshops and internships focused on composting, gardening, and food preservation.

At the heart of the farm is the Great Brook Sugar House, which produces maple syrup from approximately 1,600 tapped trees on nearby donated land in Kent. This operation connects traditional maple sugaring practices with community-based learning and production. Sullivan Farm also operates a seasonal farmstand featuring fresh produce, maple products, and other locally made goods, while continuing to support local food access and community programs through donations and outreach.
